Things

I don't enjoy owning many physical things. They weigh me down physically and mentally. My thought process is to pay for premium quality, customize whenever possible, and only buy something new if it replaces something I currently have. This has generally had the effect of making eveything I own more enjoyable, but it has the side effect of giving me periodic upgrade-itis. Anyways, here's a list of my favorite things that you can buy.

Tech Things

Framework Laptop - due to the enshittification of Windows and MacOS, I have a Linux laptop.

Lofree Return Mechanical Keyboard - If you spend 40+ hours per week on a keyboard, consider getting one that makes your typing experience a delight

Outdoor Gear

Hyperlite Mountain Gear Elevate 22 Backpack - The best backpack for long days in the mountains. It's waterproof, narrow for climbing, and rolls down small when it's not full

Arcteryx Sun Hoody - When UV is strong, like on a high altitude glacier, a lightweight hoody keeps you cooler than bare skin. Who knew!

Freeride Ski Setup - Black Crows Draco Freebird skis, ATK Hy binding, Technica Cochise boots. A true 50/50 setup

Howlin Wool Sweater - You don't need to wear ugly synthetic midlayers! A 100% wool sweater looks and smells better, while performing similarly

Norda 001 Trail Runner - I used to tear up trail runners in under 3 months. These are the most durable ones that I've found.

La Sportiva Katana Lace climbing shoe - I use the women's version because the sole has more friction and it comes in white

Camera Gear

Fujifilm X100vi - Lightweight mirrorless camera for videos and photos. As a video-focused person, the built-in ND filter was the deciding factor for me.

Insta360 Action Camera - The last thing you want to think about when hanging off a cliff by your fingertips is framing your action shot. Film 360 degrees and crop later

Peak Design Phone Tripod - I rarely have a tripod but I always have my phone. This nifty device attaches to the back of the phone case. Combine it with the BlackMagick app for videos that don't like they were shot on an iphone.

Misc Things

Outlier Strong Dungarees - I used these exclusively as my only non-exercise pants for years. They are what jeans wish they could be

Peak Design Wash Pouch - organizes toiletries and has a hook for hanging on towel racks

Tom Bihn Synik 22L Backpack - normie backpack except it's actually well-made with thoughtful organization

Milk Frother - for making smooth drink mixes and protein shakes (stir first)

Air Quality Monitor - tracks indoor air quality to help optimize health and comfort

Sleep Mask & Ear Plugs - improves my sleep quality by an unreasonable amount

Biore Sunscreen - skin health is important but so is not breaking out. This takes care of both for me

Airtags - be prepared for theft or airlines losing your bags

Glock 19 - :)
