I'm Paul Benoit. In the cloud security world, I'm known for advocating that we can achieve strong security without compromising business velocity.

The common thread through my recent work is applying first principles thinking to maximize the impact of cloud security efforts. I believe many organizations underestimate the potential competitive advantage of well-executed cloud security. I've written plenty of code to empower security teams, but I'm most proud of the security programs and feedback loops I've helped architect at Block that allow developers to ship quickly and safely.

My passion projects orbiting my day job have been focused on improving the abysmal state of cybersecurity hiring. I've stood up capture-the-flag platforms to more effectively screen candidates and aggregated remote cybersecurity job postings to make opportunities more accessible.

Off the Internet, you can find me pursuing intense outdoor adventures. I enjoy alpine rock climbing, ice climbing, and ski mountaineering.

For the past five years, I've embraced the nomad life, roaming across North America with only the possessions I could fit in my car. For now though, I call Seattle my home.
